The mental health of children and adolescents has an important and far-reaching impact on individuals, families and even the whole society. The development of mental health in primary and secondary schools is not only conducive to helping students improve their mental health literacy, realizing early prevention and intervention of psychological problems, but also promoting Students grow physically and mentally and achieve all-round development. In recent years, the British government has issued a number of policy documents on improving and promoting the mental health development of primary and secondary school students, providing policy support and action guidance for primary and secondary school mental health education courses and services. Under the macro guidance of the policy, local authorities, primary and secondary schools and related institutions in the UK attach great importance to the planning and implementation of mental health education courses. Since 2020, health education has become a mandatory compulsory course for public primary and secondary schools in England, and most primary and secondary schools will teach mental health knowledge in Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) courses or life skills courses with skills. In addition, primary and secondary schools in the UK also integrate mental health education into other basic subjects through subject penetration. Some schools will introduce mental health education projects and activities to help students improve their mental health literacy and skills.
