语法教学在英语教学中起至关重要的作用,有助于学生理解和掌握语言结构、逻辑和连贯性。然而,学界对于语法教学的具体内容和方法尚未形成共识,这导致了国内外学者对于教材语法部分的设计的差异,并且学界对教材中语法板块的研究相对较少,特别是国内外的对比研究更是稀缺。对此,本研究分析了《新航线》(第五版)预备中级教材与人教版初中英语八年级上册,《新航线》作为一款经典的英语教材被全球过亿学生使用,而人民教育出版社出版的教材则被中国大部分地区广泛使用,本研究采用了定性与定量结合的内容研究法和比较分析法,通过对两套教材的语法板块呈现顺序、呈现方式,以及语法呈现和练习的活动以及与语法教学相关的文本分析,回答了两个主要研究问题:两本教材是如何呈现语法的?两本教材是如何巩固语法的? 结果显示:1)《新航线》语法部分位于单元开头,是整个单元学习的基础,而《人教版》语法教学则依赖于其他部分; 2)两套教材均采用显性教学和隐性教学相结合的方式,但《新航线》偏向于显性教学,而《人教版》则强调隐性教学。《新航线》和《人教版》均体现了引导发现法; 3)《新航线》和《人教版》均通过语篇构建语境来呈现语法。语篇通过重复语法、提供活动语境信息,和被改编成语法练习和活动,帮助学生巩固语法。4)《新航线》主要注重有意义的练习,而《人教版》则强调机械性和交流性的练习。这些发现可以帮助一线初中英语教师更好地理解教材,对于指导一线初中英语教师的教学实践具有重要意义,也可为未来英语教材的设计提供了参考。 |

Grammar teaching plays a vital role in English teaching, helping students understand and master language structure and coherence. However, the academic community has not yet reached a consensus on the specific content and methods of grammar teaching, which has led to differences in the design of the grammar part of textbooks between domestic and foreign scholars. Moreover, there is also relatively little research on the grammar part of textbooks, especially comparisons at home and abroad. In this regard, this study analyzed the New Headway and Textbook by People's Education Press. New Headway is a classic English textbook used by more than 100 million students around the world, while the textbook published by People's Education Press is widely used in most parts of China. This study answered two main research questions by analyzing the presentation order, presentation methods, and types of activities of grammar presentation and practices and texts concerning grammar teaching: How do the two textbooks present grammar? How do the two textbooks consolidate grammar? The research draws the major conclusions: 1) The grammar section of New Headway is located at the beginning of the unit and is the basis for the entire unit learning, while the grammar teaching of Textbook by People's Education Press relies on other sections; 2) Both sets of teaching materials use a combination of explicit teaching method and implicit teaching, but New Headway prefers explicit teaching method, while Textbook by People's Education Press emphasizes implicit teaching. Both New Headway and Textbook by People's Education Press embody the guided discovery approach; 3) New Headway and Textbook by People's Education Press present grammars with texts which constructing context. Texts help students consolidate grammars by repeating grammar, providing contextual information for activities, and being adapted into grammar exercises and activities 4) New Headway mainly focuses on meaningful exercises, while Textbook by People's Education Press emphasizes mechanical and communicative exercises. These findings can not only help front-line junior high school English teachers better understand the teaching materials, but also provide a reference for the design of future English teaching materials. |
