"Diet" is an important part of Qijun's nostalgic prose. Qijun takes great pains to write about the colourful food of her hometown, from major festivals to various ceremonies to daily family life. By reminiscing about these tastes, Qijun freely shuttles between the past and the present, using the memory of taste as a medium to recapture the past beauty of her hometown, remembering the warmth of her relatives in the past, and healing herself in the world of literature, while the changes in food and flavour also make Qijun feel that the passing of time is like a watery grave, and her diet writing is full of infinite feelings. At the same time, Qijun's diet prose records the unique and precious customs of her hometown and passes on the common cultural memory of the villagers; it depicts the worldly conditions of the simple and ancient villages, and shows the compassionate and humane thinking; it excavates the deep meaning of the life of food and drink, and outlines the rich dietary interests. So far, diet has become a symbol of cultural expression, and Qijun's diet writing is correspondingly more humanistic.
