Eleanor of Aquitaine is one of the most famous aristocratic women in the medieval history of Europe, not only the duchess of the Principality of Aquitaine, but also the queen of two famous kings and the mother of two other kings, participated and witnessed a series of major events in the history of Europe in the 12th century. Although her prominence and extraordinary experience have always attracted much attention, she is not fully recorded in medieval narrative history, and there are different evaluations, which make it difficult to understand this historical figure objectively. Through Eleanor's letters and charters, this paper tries to understand her role in the reign of Aquitaine and the political and religious affairs of the Plantagenet dynasty. Despite being a female Lord, Eleanor has always had a place in determining Aquitaine 's succession and domination. The role of the king's wife and mother allowed her to participate in Plantagenet politics and influence the development of the Anjou Empire. The rich wealth and prominent status helped her to maintain close contact with the church for a long time. Not only can she make full use of the property to carry out religious donations, obtain the satisfaction of spiritual pursuit and practical interests, but also be able to interact with many church upper-class people to form her network and thus participate in church affairs, to a certain extent intervention prelate selection. These charters and letters not only more fully reflect Eleanor's own living conditions and scope of activities, but also provide more basis for people to understand the political, religious activities and social status of medieval noblewomen, and help people realize the medieval women are not always on the edge of political life and social power because of gender but have their own unique living space.
