本翻译实践报告记录了笔者参与中山政府门户网站新闻英译项目的过程。笔者以关联理论为理论框架，阐述了该理论如何辅助笔者解决翻译过程中碰到的三个难点：1）新闻标题英译；2）词语英译；3）句子英译。在新闻标题英译中，译者需要使用一般现在时，增大译文的语境效果，从而增大译文对目标读者的关联。此外，在翻译标题中的人名时，译者需要增译信息，不能直接音译，否则会徒增译文读者的处理努力。在词语英译中，译者需要对地名和中国特色词语采取增译的手法，减少译文读者的处理努力，增大译文对目标读者的关联。在句子英译中，译者需要切分长句和缕清分句之间的逻辑关系，减少译文读者的处理努力，增大译文对目标读者的关联。

This report records the process of the author’s translation of Zhongshan government website’s news. Taking relevance theory as its theoretical framework, the report describes how the theory helps the author solves three translation problems arising from the translation process, including translation of news headlines, translation of words and translation of sentences. In the translation of news headlines, the translator should use present tense to enlarge the translation’s contextual effects, thus increasing its relevance to target readers. In addition, while translating person names in news headlines, the translator should add information rather than conduct transliteration so as to avoid increasing target reader’s processing efforts. In the translation of words, the translator should add information when translating place names and words with Chinese characteristics for the purpose of decreasing target readers’ processing efforts, thus increasing the translation’s relevance to target readers. In the translation of sentences, the translator should divide long sentences and clarify the logic between short sentences to reduce target readers’ processing efforts, thus increasing the translation’s relevance to target readers.
