伊恩·麦克尤恩是当代英国文坛颇具盛名的作家之一，其作品不但涵盖了多样化的现代性主题，且在手法上善用高超的叙事技巧。从叙事学角度出发，论文拟借用不可靠叙述这一概念，对其代表作《赎罪》文本展开分析。全文分为四个部分：绪论部分对麦克尤恩的创作、生平进行介绍，阐述本文的研究内容及研究方法。第一部分文献综述对不可靠叙述这一概念及小说《赎罪》的研究现状进行梳理。首先，对不可靠叙述进行定义，介绍这一理论的核心概念：隐含作者，隐含读者，叙述者，不可靠叙述者。其次，梳理关于《赎罪》这一作品的权威性研究，阐明学界当前的研究重点主要在叙事和伦理上。第二部分为文本分析。小说分为主体三个部分和一篇主人公的自白，在各个篇章之中都有不可靠叙述的使用。本节将分析该叙述不可靠的原因，以及小说主人公使用不可靠叙述的意图。第三部分由作品文本引申到作家的创作观念。同为小说家的布莱奥尼可以看作是麦克尤恩的代言人，麦克尤恩通过该作品传达了他关于战争、误读、小说家如何以虚构性写作构建真实等话题的观点。

    Ian McEwan is one of the representatives of modern English literature, whose works are renowned for the various modern subjects and the writer’s fabulous skills on narrations. From the perspective of narratology, this thesis will discuss the unreliable narrations in McEwan’s representative work, Atonement. The thesis is divided into four parts. The introduction aims to sort out McEwan’s works and his personal experiences, illustrating the research content and the research methods. The first part, literature review, aims to sort out the current research situation of the term unreliable narration and the book Atonement. This section gives the definition of unreliable narration and introduces the key terms: implied author, implied reader, narrator, and unreliable narrator. Then it introduces the influential researches on Atonement, illustrating that current researches are mainly about its narrative and ethics. The second part analyzes the texts with unreliable narrations. The novel has three main parts and one personal statement by the protagonist, Briony, and unreliable narrations can be found in each part. This section will analyze why the narrations are unreliable, and Briony’s intention of using unreliable narrations. The third part extends the text to the views on creation of the author. Being the same as a novelist, Briony can be seen as the spokesperson of McEwan, and McEwan conveys his views on the war, misreading, and the ethical responsibility of a novelist.
