The image of Phoenix and Rosefinch which called Bird Pattern in Han tomb is worthy of attention.Phoenix is a lucky bird symbolizing good luck. While Suzaku, as one of the four mythical animals in Chinese myth, mainly represents the southern stars. However, people often confuse these two birds for their similar symbolic meanings in Han Dynasty. And it is also difficult to distinguish them according to the curves representing these two birds in Han tombs for their almost unified image. This article points out the birds which represent the Phoenix in Han tombs are often accompanied by dragons, kylins and other exotic animals. They may be surrounded by birds or with pearls, fish or ribbons in mouth. Sometimes, there will be some fairy elements around them such as the Que Door, Xi Wang Mu etc. While the bird curves representing the Suzaku are generally distributed in the upper part of the door of the tomb. Or they may occur around the Xi Wang Mu, sun, moon and other fairy elements in forms of 4-mythical-animal combination. In the four-mythical-animal system, they may be used as the decoration for the tomb combined with Xuan Wu. Occasionally, star maps may appear around them.
