素有我国打击乐精华之称的花鼓灯锣鼓音乐，节奏鲜明，边打边舞，极富表现力。花鼓灯舞蹈的节奏、步伐、动律均产生于此，二者关系甚为密切。花鼓灯的伴奏主要是顺应舞蹈动作的节奏和特点，配以各种相对应的锣鼓点，在各种动作不断连续组合的同时，形成了与之相适应的各种节奏的锣鼓点的组合。锣鼓声的抑、扬、顿、挫犹如演员在娓娓细语或热情诉说。各种音色独特的器乐在空拍出现，又使花鼓灯增添了美妙而又欢乐诙谐的气氛。可以说，是锣鼓音乐的激昂热烈才赋予花鼓灯舞蹈艺术独特的生命力。作为舞蹈工作者我们还应该涉足音乐范畴的领域来为我所长。
