Social and emotional skill ais a subset of individual abilities, attributes, and characteristics. Healthy Social and emotional skills can not only promote cognitive development, improve academic performance, reduce bad behavior, but also help adolescents adapt to future social development. Parents play an important role in the development of social and emotional skills in adolescents, and parental social and emotional skills can significantly predict children's social and emotional skills. This connection is called intergenerational transmission, where parents transmit their own personality traits, behavioral characteristics, attitudes, and development results to their children through genetic inheritance, DNA transmission, cultural transmission, or the interaction
between genetics and the environment. The more similar children are to their parents in various aspects, the stronger the intergenerational transmission effect.

In terms of intergenerational transmission mechanism of social and emotional skills, harmonious parent-child relationship helps to develop children's healthy social emotional ability.
Children of different families with socio-economic status have significant differences in the development speed of social and emotional skills. Existing research has focused on the intergenerational transmission of some social and emotional skills, and the mechanism of parentchild relationship and the heterogeneity of family socioeconomic status need further research.

This article uses the OECD's Survey on Social and Emotional Skills dataset and adopts multiple regression and structural equation modeling analysis methods to comprehensively analyze whether there is an intergenerational transmission effect on the fifteen sub skills of social and emotional skills (responsibility, perseverance, self-control, stress resistance, optimism, emotional control, trust, empathy, cooperation, tolerance, curiosity, creativity, sociability, assertiveness, and energy), and using parent-child relationship as a moderating variable, pay attention to whether the intergenerational transmission of social and emotional skills is influenced by parent-child relationship. Finally, students are grouped according to their family socioeconomic status to explore whether there are differences in the intergenerational transmission effect of students from different families with socioeconomic status.

Research has found that there is an intergenerational transmission effect on social and emotional skills, and among the fifteen skills, only the six skills of optimism, emotional control, cooperation, tolerance, curiosity, and assertiveness are regulated by parent-child relationships; Students from high socioeconomic status families scored the highest in social and emotional skills. The intergenerational transmission mechanism of social and emotional skills is heterogeneous due to socioeconomic status. The intergenerational transmission effect of social and emotional skills
of middle low socio-economic status families is the smallest. Parent-child relationship only plays a positive role in the intergenerational transmission process of social and emotional skills of middle high socio-economic families.
