American TV series and movies are prevailing in the recent years on university campuses. Slang is an important part of the American culture which is frequently used in TV series and movies. Translation of slang in literature has previously been discussed on many occasions. However, translation of slang in modern media which combines moving pictures and sounds is still to be discussed. Slang has distinctive characters and special cultural functions, and it always expresses more than its literal meaning. Therefore, under the condition of limited spaces on the screen and time between pictures, translation of slang should be reconsidered.
