随着我国与国外的教育交流愈发频繁，教材作为教育产品也成为教育交流的重要研究对象。在教材英译中的过程中，经常需要使用归化与异化的翻译策略，归化是以读者为翻译取向，让原作走向读者；异化是以原作为翻译取向，即尽量保留原文语言的特质让读者靠近原作。在翻译中，翻译者往往会面临归化和异化策略选择的问题，而归化与异化策略的选择正反映了译者在翻译过程中对原作和目的语读者的一种倾向性。归化与异化策略的选择并不具有绝对性，往往译者在处理不同翻译情景时会采用不同的策略，因此往往在译文中混合使用。Physics:Principles and Problems（《物理:原理与问题》）高中物理教材在美国具有广大的受众，具有美国高中物理教学的普适性。其中译本在中国也广受好评，十分畅销。一部好的作品能够在本土和海外同时享有盛誉，必然具有其特色与价值，也离不开优秀的作者和译者。本文通过案例分析探讨《物理:原理与问题》中译本归化和异化的使用，分析其原因和目的，同时对该类中英教材进行了对比，以丰富科技英语翻译研究的理论和实践，并为中学理工类英文教材的中译提供借鉴。

As educational exchanges between China and foreign countries become more frequent, teaching materials as educational products have become an important subject of study in educational exchanges. In the process of translation, it is often necessary to use the translation strategies of Domestication and Foreignization. Domestication is to take the readers as the translation target so that the original work goes to the readers. Foreignization is to take the original text as the translation target, that is, to try to retain the qualities of the original text language so that the readers are close to the original work. In translation, translators often face the problem of choosing between Domestication and Foreignization, and the choice between Domestication and Foreignization reflects the translator’s inclination towards the original work and the target language readers in the translation process. The choice between Domestication and Foreignization is not absolute. And translators often adopt different strategies when dealing with different translation situations, so translation methods are often mixed. The translation has also been well-received in China and is very popular. A good work that enjoys both local and overseas acclaim must have its own characteristics and values, and it cannot be separated from its excellent authors and translators. This article explores the use of Domestication and Foreignization in the E-C translation of Physics: Principles and Problems through a case study, analyses its reasons and purposes, and also compares the Chinese-English textbooks in this category, in order to enrich the theory and practice of translation studies in technical English and to provide references for the E-C translation science and engineering English textbooks of secondary school.
