自由主义理论下的国家因其对国家目的的消极化而产生了一系列问题，其中一个重要的原因是德性的缺失。而亚里士多德的城邦理论可以有效完善这一点。亚里士多德认为城邦的目的是追求幸福，幸福是灵魂合德性的活动。城邦是人为的且由人组成，只有将城邦的目的落脚到人的目的才能更好地实现城邦的稳定发展。在分析这个观点的过程中，亚里士多德对快乐与享乐生活的批判同时可以有效地回应自由主义国家产生的问题。亚里士多德对城邦目的的深刻化提供了对自由主义国家困境完善的可能方案。

A series of problems have arisen in the country under the liberal theory because of its negativism to the country purpose. Aristotle's theory of the city can effectively perfect this. Aristotle believed that the purpose of the city was the pursuit of happiness, and that happiness can be defined, as activity of the soul in accordance with excellence or virtue. The city is artificial and composed of people, only the purpose of the city to the purpose of people can better achieve the stable development of the city. In the process of analyzing this view, Aristotle's critique of pleasure and hedonistic life can also effectively respond to the problems arising from the liberal state. Aristotle's insight into the purpose of the polis provides a possible solution to the dilemma of the liberal state.
