In the history of film art development, the use of symbolic elements is widespread. Symbolism is not only an important aesthetic element and medium for conveying ideas in movies, but also serves as a symbolic feature of movies and becomes a key point for their widespread dissemination. The success of The Dark Knight in the art and commercial fields is worth learning from and drawing inspiration from Chinese films. In today's rapidly developing globalization, in order to tell Chinese stories and spread Chinese culture well, it is necessary to summarize the successful experiences of excellent works and use them for Chinese films. This paper is based on the author's interest in the use of symbolic elements and Batman movies, attempting to analyze the role and significance of symbolic elements in the film The Dark Knight, and explore the inspiration of the use of symbolic elements for Chinese film creation.
