教材在教学中发挥着重要作用,插图是教材必不可少的一部分。一直以来,教材中的文本内容被学者广泛关注,但对教材插图的研究却很少。对插图的研究主要集中在科学、生物等自然学科,对英语教材中插图的研究则很少。本研究选择人民教育出版社出版的“Go for it”五本初中英语教材作为研究材料,将教材中的插图从功能及种类上进行分类和量化统计,描述此教材中插图设计和使用的特点,并对其优缺点进行了评价。研究发现,该套教材插图内容丰富、色彩艳丽,同时插图功能齐全、种类多样,但也存在着卡通插图占比过重,部分插图过时的问题。本研究希望能为教材编者提供研究参考、改进插图设计,并且帮助英语教师合理利用教材插图。 |

Textbooks play an important role in teaching, and illustrations are an indispensable part of textbooks. For a long time, the texts of textbooks have been widely studied by scholars, but there is little research on textbook illustrations. The existing research on illustrations has mainly focused on natural science subjects such as science and biology, while there is little research on illustrations in English textbooks. This study selects five volumes of the junior high school English textbook “Go for it” published by the People’s Education Press (PEP) as research materials, and makes quantitative studies on the functions and types of illustrations in the textbooks. It describes the characteristics of the illustration design and use in the set of textbook, and evaluates its merits and drawbacks. The results show that the illustrations in this set of textbooks are rich in content and colorful. At the same time, the illustrations have various functions and types, but there are also some problems. For example, there are too many cartoon illustrations and some illustrations are outdated. This study hopes to provide research reference for textbook editors to improve illustration design, and to help English teachers make rational use of textbook illustrations. |
