英国著名社会学家安东尼·吉登斯将时间与空间作为社会的建构性要素纳入到其社会学研究中。本文着重对安东尼吉登斯的时空观进行理论上的梳理和探究：在其结构化理论中，吉登斯认为时空要素贯穿微观的个体生命和宏观的社会制度，且二者通过时空交织相互制约；在其现代性诊断中，吉登斯认为“时空分离”是现代断裂性的主要表现，其影响已经渗透到了个人生活和社会系统的方方面面。本文还将吉登斯的时空观理论用于分析中国的夜生活，从夜生活的分区、监视作用以及上海夜生活的社会历史意义三个角度，为这种社会现象提供一种新的理解视角。

The British sociologist Anthony Giddens incorporated time and space as the constructive elements of society into his sociological studies. This thesis focuses on the theoretical analysis of Anthony Giddens' view of time and space. In his Structuration theory, Giddens believes that time and space have significance from the macroscopic and microscopic perspectives because they not only help to construct the whole social system and but also the individual life routine. In his diagnosis of modernity, Giddens believes that "time-space separation" is the main manifestation of discontinuities, which represents the key to high modernity in today's world. This new relationship between time and space leads to the expansion of interaction over space and its contraction over time, which has major impacts on many aspects of social life. This paper also uses Giddens' theory of time and space to analyse nightlife in China as a societal phenomenon to provide a new perspective.
