There is similarity between the history of functions and the various problems encountered by students when learning functions. By interpreting the definitions and questions of functions from mathematicians in different historical periods, studying the laws between the definitions of functions at different learning stages, and comparing the two, we can guide the teaching of student function concepts and provide a theory of knowledge based on historical similarity
